It happened in December (and Christmas!)

Gingerbread Houses

I had a face painting birthday party in Wendover and so we all went as a family (except Shayden) and on the way we stopped by the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Kailee and I got to take pictures with Santa and Mrs Claus at another gig.

Looking at the temple lights in the cold.

Someone surprised us by doing the 12 days of Christmas for our family. Every day we had a new gift on our doorstep and the last one was extra special!

This year was different because the Browns decided to go to Cheyenne for Christmas and my parents decided to go to Washington D.C. So because of this, we also decided to be gone the week between Christmas and New Years. In order to make sure we could get on the flights we flew out on Christmas Eve! We let the kids each open one gift that night before heading to the airport.

Shayden got a phone and Jasmine was so excited for him.

We arrived at the Jfk airport on Christmas morning, sleepy and tired but excited for an adventure!

First stop was Boston where my parents and Julio already were.

Downtown Boston is beautiful at Christmastime

Next we went to NYC for one day

Walking around Central Park-the best

And the kids got to go ice skating in the park this time!
St. Patrick's Cathedral-so stunning!

Jonas and I got tickets through Jetblue to go to the top of the One World Trade Center tower. It was very high and pretty spectacular. We were grateful to my parents who stayed with the kids in upper Manhattan while we did this.

Next stop was Washington D.C.!
MLK Jr. Memorial. It was amazing.

The Washington D.C. temple is so magnificent.

Flashbacks to my childhood when I used to go to the Natural History museum and loved it so much.

Jasmine and I got tickets to go into the butterfly observatory. There were beautiful butterflies everywhere!

We were blessed to stay with our friends the Judd's. Thomas was Jonas' mission companion and quite the character. They have eight kids so for them to take another 6 people in was a sacrifice and we were so grateful! On our last day my parents came and we drove around Maryland and got to go to an Amish Market which was awesome!

We rang in the New Year at their home with our own little party. Shayden went with their teenagers to a youth dance.
